The Ife University in Nigeria – the main University of the country's Western Region- was planned by Arieh Sharon during the 1960s and 1970s. The Humanities building is designed as a series of three reversed pyramids connected by two lecture halls and pergolas which define interior courtyards. The shape of the buildings provide protection from the monsoon rains and the glare of the sun.
