The Ife University in Nigeria – the main University of the country's Western Region - was planned by Arieh Sharon during the 1960s and 1970s. The Library is located at the main piazza next to the Assembly Hall and the Secretariat and, similarly to the Humanities building, contains cantilevered floors that provide protection from monsoons and the sun. The entrance to the library is marked by a sculpture referencing one of Ife’s most important historical monuments, the Oranmiyan Staff.
